About Us
Girls of Color Leadership Academy was founded in 2024 by a coalition of educators, immigrant advocates, and community leaders who recognized the unique challenges faced by immigrant girls and young women of color in Connecticut’s educational systems.
Our founders witnessed firsthand how the intersection of gender, immigration status, and race created multiple barriers to educational success. They also recognized the tremendous untapped potential and resilience within these young women.
What began as grassroots workshops has evolved into a comprehensive organization dedicated to systemic change through leadership development, digital literacy, and educational support.
